Since early 2011 EauPropre | ProperWater has been a space for work on the issue of water in the city of the future. It is both a physical space and a coming together of different groups of people.
The different projects described here, share the outcomes of good and not so successful experiments. Describing in (sometimes technical) detail the different aspects allows for others to learn from the experience, and copy, apply and improve what is useful.
In an attempt to turn rain, public space enemy number one, into an ally, a temporary structure was imagined that with a funnel roof would capture rain water which would then be made fit for human consumption. It would prove the ideal catalyst for a series of discussion, debates, exchanges, the creation of artefacts and spin-off projects that carry on beyond the initial project.»
City Mine(d) TAP is designed to reduce spillage by only releasing liquid when a container is underneath the opening.
In its simplest form, it is “a valve controlling the release of liquid through applying pressure with the top opening of a bottle to the bottom of the device”.»
